GSI Group Laser Division has a strong tradition in bringing leading technology to the industrial laser market whilst ensuring that products are rugged, easy to integrate and optimised for industrial applications. The JK FL range of Fiber Lasers has been designed from the ground up to give the industrial laser user the optimum solutions for their processes.
Fiber Lasers offer a new and exciting complementary technology to the world of industrial lasers. Unlike a conventional laser which is constructed from free space components such as mirrors, rods and lenses, a fiber laser is an all-bulk material device. The laser rod is effectively substituted by a length of doped active fiber several metres long. The remaining components are also all-fiber devices, each of which are spliced together to form a laser resonator. An immediate advantage is that there is no need for alignment, adjustment or subsequent cleaning of optical surfaces once the laser has been built; this means little or no maintenance requirement.
