Industrial Laser Development & Manufacture
Industrial lasers supplied by GSI have been developed to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the most harsh and demanding environments. Using over 30 years of experience in Industrial Laser processing GSI has developed a range of JK™ Laser Nd:YAG and JK™ Fiber Laser products that carry on working year after year with minimal maintenance and near zero downtime.
GSI’s Industrial lasers are designed from the ground up to be easily integrated into materials processing applications. Software integration is made simple via the LaserView™ and FiberView™ suites of programs including DLL’s and ActiveX components as well as providing a Graphical User Interface (GUI) front end for user interfacing. A fast machine interface also allows high speed triggering and activation of synchronisation events. A range of communication interfaces is also available including RS232, USB and Ethernet.
Environmental performance is key to allowing Industrial Lasers to operate continuously for long periods of time. The JK™ range of lasers are designed to operate long term at ambient temperatures as high as 40ºC and at humidity’s as high as 95% RH (20ºC). To ensure protection against dust/dirt ingress and spillage all of the JK range products meet IP55/NEMA standards.
To ensure safety standards compliance in machine environments all products are certified to European CE and US CDRH standards. Whilst an Industrial Laser is not regarded as a complete machine on its own, all the necessary capabilities, such a CAT3 safety shutter facilities, are built in allowing the machine builder to meet necessary national and international safety standards in a straightforward way. All Electrical Safety and Electromagnetic compatibility standards are also met.
Reliability and longevity are also significant factors in ensuring that a laser meets the criteria for industrial applications. All of the JK™ range of lasers are conservatively designed with high quality industrial components. The JK™ Fiber Laser range for instance uses high quality telecoms approved pump diodes to ensure an MTBF for the laser resonator of over 100,000 hours. Similarly the JK™ Nd:YAG range utilises the Luminator™ range of patented delivery fibres with inherent back reflection protection preventing damage to both the fibre and resonator during processing.
Finally in order to help the end user maximise productivity GSI’s state of the art applications laboratories are available to customers to help them get the maximum from their industrial lasers and ensure consistent and long term success with their Industrial laser processing.
